The Gracie Barra Kids & Teens Program is designed to build the next generation of leaders by instilling our core values of Brotherhood, Integrity, and Development through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Ranging from 3-15 years of age, our 16 Week Curriculum is designed to teach the complete art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu curated to specific age groups, to better help students succeed and foster an optimal learning environment.  

The goal for all of our programs is to strengthen behavior and listening skills, boost focus during group activities, improve physical coordination and strength, develop self confidence and communication skills, and establish positive routines.

WOMENS PROGRAM: ​

EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH JIU-JITSU

The Gracie Barra Manhattan Womens Program is designed by leading women in Gracie Barra, for women, that incorporate several adaptations and specific techniques to develop women physically, mentally, and technically to be prepared to join the GB1 class after 8 weeks. 

Our goal is to build a community of women where they can thrive, learn, and empower themselves and others. In this program we meet the specific learning needs of women who want to start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our coaches will introduce Jiu-Jitsu in a safe environment and build a strong and empowering community, both on and off the mats.

FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM:​

FUNDAMENTALS

Since the inception of Gracie Barra, Master Carlos Gracie Jr. has championed ‘Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone.’ For more than 35 years, our adult classes have embodied this ethos, catering to individuals of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Our meticulously crafted curriculum is designed to guide you through the art of Jiu-Jitsu seamlessly.

Students experience results that go beyond gains in strength, flexibility, fitness or self-defense skills. By remaining truthful to the lessons learned in practice and applying them off the mats, Gracie Barra students experience an overall improvement on their focus, energy and general well-being. The GB 1 Program teaches these basic principles of effective fighting to individuals like you. Its structure condenses an immense diversity of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into core fundamental moves combined intelligently and safely to optimize your learning. During our Adults Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals Program, you will learn the basic techniques and principles of Jiu Jitsu, including:

  • Grappling: Learn how to control your opponent and apply various holds and locks to submit them.
  • Takedowns: You’ll learn how to take your opponent to the ground and gain a dominant position.
  • Escapes: Learn how to escape from inferior positions and defend against various attacks.
  • Self-defense: You’ll learn practical techniques to defend yourself in real-life situations.

ADVANCED PROGRAM:​

ADVANCED

The GB2 Advanced Program helps students shape their game flow by enhancing reaction time, to better facilitate smooth transitions between techniques. This program provides a foundation in high-level Jiu-Jitsu techniques and drills, helping students refine their skills and enhance overall Jiu-Jitsu.

While the Program focuses on the building blocks and basic principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the GB² Program is built on high-level techniques and drills. These advanced practices shape students’ game flow by enhancing reflexes, speed, and reaction time, facilitating smooth transitions between techniques.

After a few months in the GB² Program, students typically experience a deeper involvement in GB’s philosophy. They also develop a stronger bond with training partners and cultivate more discipline and commitment to healthy habits that keep them in good shape.

ADVANCED PROGRAM

ADVANCED

The Gracie Barra Black Belt Program is the ultimate stage in GB’s adult program structure, representing the culmination of a student’s journey while also signifying a new chapter.

Here, the goal is to refine the student’s Jiu-Jitsu game flow by immersing them in cutting-edge techniques and their variations. The dynamic curriculum offers diverse classes, complemented by hour-long live training sessions, creating a challenging yet safe space for students transitioning from blue to black belts.

In addition to technical skills, the program emphasizes mental fortitude and strategic thinking, preparing students for the demands of high-level Jiu-Jitsu competition and real-life self-defense scenarios.

Upon completion, students not only earn their coveted black belt but also gain a deeper understanding of Jiu-Jitsu philosophy, a stronger sense of community, and the confidence to excel both on and off the mats.

NoGi Program

NoGi

The Gracie Barra Manhattan Beach No-Gi Program offers a dynamic approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, focusing on techniques without the traditional gi uniform. In this program, students sharpen their grappling, submission, and positional control skills, adapting to faster-paced training that improves agility and technique. No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes grip strength, body control, and precision, making it an ideal complement to traditional gi training. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students develop adaptability and resilience, preparing for a variety of scenarios and competitions, all while enjoying the supportive and challenging Gracie Barra environment.
